Who We Are

The Strafford Senior Center started in 1999 at the Strafford Methodist Church in the basement. In 2002, the present building was built. The purpose of the organization shall be to plan, initiate and implement activities, programs and /or services which assist older citizens in maintaining their health, well-being and independence and to provide opportunities for people to utilize their abilities and resources in order to improve the quality of life of the homebound and active senior citizens in the community. Under the proven concept that an organization of senior citizens can be a significant resource within the community, this organization shall work to develop a cooperative spirit in the community to express, not only the needs of seniors but also their abilities.

What We Do

The Strafford Senior Center was formed to help seniors in the area receive a nutritious meal while talking with family and friends. We provide an in-center meal and frozen meals to in-home diners Monday through Friday to seniors in the Strafford and Northeast Springfield area. We provide educational presentations on preventing falls and nutritional information, monthly foot care clinics, weekly music jams and inspiration hour, bingo, art classes, poetry, knitting/crocheting, cards and guest speakers.
